Thanks for the URL, Peggy, I was looking at a slightly different chart. I cannot see how this can be done using Legacy alone. Personally I use Open Office for moving around chunks of text, as you are doing, and leave it to sort out the indexes. I don't know Word, but I guess it will do something similar.
Although, having said that, and I can also see why you may wish to change the Descendant Report layout, personally I wouldn't do it, as this is the standard layout for this type of report.
