Cathy,

The obvious is to delete Legacy.usr, as Legacy will recreate it when it
starts. However, with this particular usr file I would excercise a little
caution, as you may have to reset all your settings. Deleting will not
affect your data in any way whatsoever.

I would ensure that your settings are saved, in particular the colour scheme
which can be a real pain to put back - Options>Customise>Colours>Save. If
you give it a name to will remember you should just be able to load it back
if needed.

Instead of deleting I would just put and "X" in front of the file name - so
it becomes "XLegacy.usr". Close Legacy and reopen, and see if the problem
has gone. If all is OK after a few opening and closings you can then delete
it. I do not know which or how many of your current settings will be
affected (most, I suspect).

Subject: [LegacyUG] Legacy start up with Windows 7

Recently I installed Windows 7 and am having difficulties when I click on
my Legacy 7.0 program to open it. I get the message “error opening user file
c:\Legacy\Legacy.usr” Then I am asked “ would like to try again”. When I
click on “yes” I get the message “Open and save file” then I click on
the
file it opens. Can anyone tell me how to open the program like I did in
Windows XP? I used to click on Legacy on my desktop and it would open.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
