As usual, it's entirely a matter of personal preference, really, but provided you are receiving a *scan* of the original and not a transcript, I think I would favour using the Newspapers - print edition template, but I would specify in the Source Comments field that my actual source was a scan of the original and I would attach the scan itself. Where someone sends me an e-mail in which they have transcribed a document, I always cite the e-mail as the Source and include a copy of the relevant text in the Source Text field. By the way, I nearly missed your post because it was buried in some seemingly interminable bore about Digests.
