Hi all,
I am so excited. I am finally starting to GET IT when it comes to data
entry in LegacyFT. I have figured out what I want in terms of how
much source lumping / splitting I want to do for each of my current
records, and actually pre-entered my master sources for each type of
information in my notebook. It has made it much easier now to take my
individual records and do the necessary data entry. I have a lot of
records to enter yet, but I am consistently doing a little bit each
night and am getting through my pile.

I have found a shortcut much to my liking in LFT. I have been making
much use of the master source and location lists, and find that I like
using the name list as my "homebase" to enter records. It's much
easier for me to scroll or search through the list of names than it is
to hop from one name to another in either family or pedigree views.

I do have a question. I have been using the source clipboard
successfully, but the other day, I entered some detail information
under the wrong event name (christening vs. baptism). Is there a way
to copy the full details (two or more tabs) and then paste it onto
another master event? I have been copying the text/notes tab, but
then I need to re-enter the details tab again.

Also, I notice there is a very large concentration of genealogy
focused people as well as educational events in Salt Lake City and
surrounding areas. Is anyone here from the New York Metro area? I'm
in NJ and would love to connect with others in the area, who can help
me find resources/educational opportunities in my area.

Thanks,
Dawn D. in NJ
