Jennifer, I am curious about when/where you heard that 'Legacy folk were going to see if they could get source writer sources gedcom compliant'.
We have had discussions on this list about the problem. There is my long-winded post on June 25 (or 26?) entitled 'Incomplete Export of Source Details', and a thread with no title on July 2. Then a rehash on August 23-25 entitled 'combining/replacing sources' and 'changed to Gedcom history/future' where the ownership of GEDCOM was discussed. Someone said 'don't hold your breath' regarding the likelihood of changes to the standard. The main problem is that the Evidence Explained style produced by SourceWriter templates intersperses fields from the master and detail source. The GEDCOM standard can only deal with a basic source where all the detail fields are concatenated together into one field. Also, in a Legacy export, certain generated titles such as "p." for a page number are missing. This last problem might be fixable in Legacy, but it would be nice to know whether the folks at Millennia (and other software providers) are at all campaigning for enhancements to the standard.
