I found a post that referred to Geoff's comments I was trying to find. It was in a post by Gail Rich Nestor on 17 Sep 2008 to the "old" [email protected]. So it was a special web export he was talking about. Pity it didn't happen.

Someone said 'don't hold your breath' regarding the likelihood of changes to the standard. The main problem is that the Evidence Explained style produced by SourceWriter templates intersperses fields from the master and detail source. The GEDCOM standard can only deal with a basic source where all the detail fields are concatenated together into one field. Also, in a Legacy export, certain generated titles such as "p." for a page number are missing. This last problem might be fixable in Legacy, but it would be nice to know whether the folks at Millennia (and other software providers) are at all campaigning for enhancements to the standard.
