Joyce:

Are you saying that you list items 1, 2, and 3 below each as individual
sources? If so, that's a rather complicated way to handle a simple citation.
In this case the death certificate would be the one and only source while the
"WV Div. of Culture & History" and the fact that you transcribed it from a
(microfilm?) image are details to be included either at the Master Source level
or at the Source Detail level. That might make your sourcing life a lot easier.

Yes Richard. I use multiple sources. This is an example:

I transcribe a death record for an individual and the image is provided by a
source.

So the sources would be....

1. The death certificate:
Death Certificate: Abersold, Martha Jane (Gump) (1896-1949)

2. The source that provided the image:
Provided by: WV Div. of Culture & History

3. The person that actually saw and transcribed the image:
Transcribed by: Joyce Schaefer Yowler

I have done it this way for my entire database (Over 49,000 individuals) and
will go back to the older version if it isn't added to the new version.

I am not sure what you are asking? Do you mean ex: 2 sources for a birth? In
the past, Legacy had a clipboard to do that, but I stopped using it, because
adding two sources to multiple people meant the 'details' couldn't be changed
on the run, so you needed to go back later and re-edit each. I then decided for
myself, I would never work with more than one source at a time.
