Actually, the triple bar has not ALWAYS acted the same way.  At one time in
the distant past (ver. 4 or 3 or 2), it added the source(s) to all fields
which had data AND no source.

In any event, when Legacy had the ability to include up to 5 sources on the
clipboard, there were many, many posts on this board expressing confusion
about how to use it.  Probably more than are now lamenting its removal.  A
large majority of users stated that they had no use for this feature.  With
the introduction of Legacy 7, Millennia said they were eliminating the
feature because it caused so much confusion.

Personally, I used the feature a few times, but very rarely.  I think its
utility depends on how you research and how you format your sources.  I
usually have different source details for each individual and it doesn't
work very well in those situations.

That's not to say I would object to having the feature back, but I think
very few people would use it.
