After you have created the "new" parents, you can than right click on the child from the family view...click on "Children's Settings"...if you click on the arrow by Child Status, you will see some choices that you can make regarding the relationship between the child and the "new" parents...you could choose "none" or "foster"...and create an event for this situation with notes explaining the circumstances.
