Yes it is the .fdb file which is backed up when you leave the program and back-up. As far as I can remember you can make a PDF of most reports in V5, but you don't actually say it is a Report which you are sending, nor which. You should see what options are available for each report on the right of the screen, or by pressing the "Print" button for each report.
