Angela,

It might be because I have my head tied up in another problem that I don't
understand, but what is ssdi?

You might be able to minimise you problem by first copying the amended files
from B ie. the ones which you have changed since abstracting B from A, using
Search>Find>Detailed Search and on the first row: Individual; Modified Date;
After; insert the date you split the files in the last box. Click "Create"
and on the new screen Options>Advanced Tagging; select a convenient tag
number and then "Everyone in Search List". Copy the tagged file into a new
Legacy file and then merge with A

Subject: [LegacyUG] Merging using Intellishare

Hi,

I have one family file with 15,000 people (file A). I created a new file
(with all the same individuals) (file B) to do a special project but then
forgot to return to my original file A.

In the meantime I have imput about 700 new individuals into file B.

I want to merge file B back into file A. I did this and then did
intellishare and then did automerge. The automerge began running and it had
2,994,340 possible files to review. I let it run and it took in excess of
12 hours and then it returned to the files for me to go through to find all
of the individuals that still need to be reviewed. (I saved the merge file
and compared the file sizes. There were over 17,000 people that in the new
file)

Thinking this is nuts and would take all week. I undid the merge and
started again with file A and B. Is there anyway to merge these files
that wont take a huge amount of time?

Yes, the files are the same other than adding the new individuals and adding
some ssdi info to some of the existing files. The reason I want to revert
to file A is that in file A I have extensively used the tags and do not want
to lose them (months of work). In file B I deleted all of the tags to do my
project.

Any advice would be welcome,

Thanks,
Angela
