Brian,

I use the method described often on this list of keeping my database (.fdb
files and multimedia files) on a USB thumb drive, which I can carry back and
forth between the 2 computers. I make backups to the C: drive of whichever
computer I'm using, just so they are on a different medium, but I've not had
to restore from backup.

I find that my user settings are all stored on the hard drive where Legacy
is installed (e.g.: C:/Legacy), not with my data files. Thus, they can be
different on each computer.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Transfering data between computers

I would like to ask,and I know it has been discussed here before, but please
bare with me.I have Legacy on my desktop with all sorts of custom settings.I
would like to also use it on my laptop. When I enter data on the laptop,I
will save a backup and then use it to "restore" the new data to my
desktop. My question is will the backup change the custom settings on the
desktop? Any better advise on how to transfer data back and forth? Thank you
for the help,Brian
