Debbie: Folly! What is gained by vacuuming thousands of unreviewed records from Ancestry into your database? How will you correct the data entry errors and inconsistencies? And will you omit the individual notes or simply plagarize?
At the very least, you should open the GEDCOM in a separate Legacy file and review/clean up what you see in the Master Lists prior to considering a merge. Otherwise you could easily end up with an unmitigated mess. If the people in that GEDCOM have any meaning for you, their records should deserve at least a brief review (roughly 1,000 hours in my estimation), or else why include them? Your help is appreciated.
