I'd have to experiment when I get home, as I too have an iMac that runs Legacy on Windows via Fusion, but isn't it as simple as pointing the pictures directory to your iPhoto directory on the OSX side? You should have two options -- either a "Shared" folder, or, as I do, a seperate drive (mine is labelled as z:) accessible in Windows that gives you full access to the contents on the OSX side.
If you don't, perhaps there was an option you didn't take when you set up the virtual machine. Does any of this make sense? Sorry I can't explain better!!
