This is totally off-topic for the list! But to get you (and any others that may be interested) pointed in the right direction, here's a web reference for it <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD5> The relevant phrase is in the first paragraph "and is also commonly used to check the integrity of files" This should mean that if the calculated MD5 value matches the original value, then the file has not been changed. In this respect, two files with the same name, but differing MD5 values, can not be copies of the same file.
