That's been that way ever since the Description field was added. It does this because the main birth field does not have a Description field to move the Event/Fact's Description to. I would report it on http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/problems.asp as a bug. Maybe one of these days the programmers will address the issue (though I'm not sure what the solution would be). In the mean time, I would recommend that you don't use the Description field for any of the Alt. Events that go with the main types of events (Alt. Birth, Alt. Baptism, Alt. Death, Alt. Burial, Alt. Marriage).
