I have been a long time lurker on both the list and the archives and watching
what keeps happening is driving me crazy.
Why do some of you just insist on beating people up over list etiquette?
For those of you old enough to remember Miss. Manners will know that she was
all about etiquette, but she would also say you don't put it back in people's
face if they mess up. In fact she would say that the poor etiquette and rude
behavior is to point it out the way it is repeatedly pointed out on this list.
I have watched this list for a long time a feel that there are some people that
are computer/Legacy snobs. That some of you project "air" of superiority and
are very arrogant scaring new people off. In fact was not a variation of this
just discussed a few days ago?
If there are problem posts and users and use issues let the people that are
actually employeed by Millennia Corp/Legacy handle it. Give people a chance
and ignore the post if it is not your cup of tea.
Some things can be handled off list (there email address is in the post).
Saying hey next time it might not be best to do "X".
If there is something that needs to be stopped on list let Millennia/Legacy
staff step up. After all it is their list managed and paid for by their
resources.
I suspect every email system these days has options to filter messages to make
it easier to handle email. This list is not even that large of a volume of
email compared to some. If you don't like post by XYZ person filter that
person's emails to the trash.
I am sure this rant will get me kicked off the list but i truly think that if
there is chastising to be done it needs to come from the owners not the users.
Please stop scaring people from posting or wanting to be involved with the list.
Kim
[For those wondering I changed the Subject line as it is a new topic. I did
the old style etiquette practice and put the new topic, then WAS then left the
old topic so readers knew where the thread came from.]

I'm curious why people feel the need to talk about a competitor product on
the list? This is definitely against the rule of etiquette for this list, but
then the rules of etiquette for this list have obviously gone out the window.
We have one poster who apparently only read the parts of the rules of etiquette
that she felt like reading. She told us that off topic just meant that you
can't talk about recipes. She has decided (must be a new list administrator)
that any genealogy topic is ok. She as well as many on this list have chosen
to ignore the fact that the rules of etiquette say that you can only talk about
Legacy and the Legacy add on products. When did RM become a Legacy or Legacy
add on product? I apparently missed the big announcement from Ken and Dave.
We need even more new people on this list who make their own decision that the
Rules of Etiquette for Legacy don't mean a d..n.
