There is also a place on that same page for locations to check "don't change 
what I type".  It is on the right side near the bottom.

That may work for names, but does NOT work for locations!

I had similar problems in the past. When I changed the choices in Tab 'Data 
Format' (all three) to 'Don't change what I enter', it solved the problems I 
had; McDonald, de la Ware, O'Brien, Edward I, King of England. Good Luck
