There is also a place on that same page for locations to check "don't change what I type". It is on the right side near the bottom.

When I changed the choices in Tab 'Data Format' (all three) to 'Don't change what I enter', it solved the problems I had; McDonald, de la Ware, O'Brien, Edward I, King of England.
