Thank you to everyone who contributed to this discussion. :-) I think Ron has hit the nail on the head for me. I didn't know about saving colour schemes before the recent discussion, which I've been following with interest (but not realising it was something I should have done before!). And it's good to have someone confirm that I can copy over all the .usr files - I thought I probably could, but it's good to have someone else say so.
Now I can get on with yet another step towards returning my system to what it used to be before the hard drive failure.
