Dennis, Event types - I guess I was thinking of any event type that is linked to a picture now through the Source Detail. BMD's are of particular interest because the documents are often interesting to look at.
Copy vs. Replace: I was thinking the pointer worked the other way, from the source detail to the picture, so you raise a good question. Copy would allow one to still access the picture in Legacy through the Source, but Replace gives the main benefit. So long as there is a 1:1 relationship, i.e. if 5 individuals have the same census source detail, then there are already 5 records in the multimedia table that can be updated. Simple update query - can you sketch the main elements? I couldn't find my way through the different ID numbers involved. Russ -----Original Message----- From: Dennis M. Replacing the pointer from the image to the source detail with a pointer from the image to the event would be much simpler and probably doable with a single UPDATE query. >This way the pictures will be accessible for web pages without the need for >any HTML coding. > >I tried working my way in Access through the tables with no success. -- Dennis Kowallek (LTools) http://zippersoftware.com/ltools http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ltools Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
