Thanks, Jim -

I printed out the "Tips on Fixing Relationship Problems" and see answers to
some other questions I have -- like fixing the gender issues. I found
fixing gender issues was not as simple as opening the person and choosing
"male" or "female" (the choices are grayed out) so I had just been letting
that problem sit. Now I think I can tackle it.

I was already doing #2 from the Potential Problems report. Seems my kids
are all an unsorted mess and doing each one by one was becoming time
consuming as well as monotonous. I took your advice and ordered #3, the
LTool. I'm awaiting my registration number now, but if it only does this
one thing, it will be worth the $10.95 not to have to sit here and sort
children.

Thank you for your help.

Lana,

There are three things you can do to solve the birth order issue:
1. Please read the article "Tips on Fixing Relationship Problems" at
http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/tipsRelationshipProblems.asp. This article
will give you the steps to correct the sorting issues that you are
experiencing in your family file. Look at Problem 2: 'Children not listed in
order of birth dates in lists and reports.' (Note: this solution is only
useful as you happen across a family with children not in chronological
order.)

2. Create a Potential Problems List that contains only searches for children
listed out of birth order. You can sort the birth order right in the
Potential Problems List. Here's how:
    1. Click on Reports on the menu bar, then select All Reports (Books and
others) and click Potential Problems button.
    2. Clear all of the check-marks from the Warnings, Problems,
Standardization and LDS tabs, with the following single exception. On the
Warnings tab leave checked the box for Check sort order of children.
    3. Click the Create Problems List button.
    4. Going line by line, click the Edit Children button on the right side
of the list.
    5. In the Children screen click the Sort button on the right side of the
screen; then click OK and Close.

3. Order LTools from Zipper Software at http://zippersoftware.com/index.htm.
The deluxe version of this handy little program only costs $10.95 (or
thereabouts) and has feature that will globally sort all children in your
family file at one time.

Is there a simple way to sort all children in all families at one time?

I have ran the Potential Problems, have a list of possible errors including
unsorted children, and am currently sorting each name one at a time. Any
short cut to doing this in one swoop?

Thank you,
Lana
