I have laboriously changed VAN and VON in surnames to lower case van and von. Similarly locations such as, for instance, ‘At Sea Off Ireland’ to ‘At sea off Ireland’, ‘Rio DE Janeiro’ to ‘Rio de Janeiro’ and ‘Church Of England’ to ‘Church of England’ etc.
When I save my file in Legacy giving it a new name every month, my changes to lower case are retained. But when I export as a 5.5 Gedcom and re-import it into Legacy or another program, all my lower case have reverted to upper. I don’t remember having this problem in the past. Can you suggest what I am doing wrong?
