Just clicking on the icon just pops up LFS program; in order to access anything from NFS, you have to be an LDS member and enter your login information - Legacy FS is not fully functional yet though so you still won't be connecting directly to NFS through Legacy right now - when it is functional, you won't be allowing unauthorized access to your records at all; when everything is fully functional, you should be able to submit data to NFS if you want to and retrieve data from NFS if you want to. You will have to choose the appropriate options and initiate that yourself; it's not going to automatically upload or anything like that. The purpose of NFS and all of the enhancements is to eliminate or at least reduce substantially the duplication that exists there; the last thing they would want is for people's databases being uploaded randomly; in fact, they discourage uploading anything without first double checking to be sure your ancestors are not already listed there.
I hope that answers your concerns; I felt like you were just concerned for the safety of your data more than you were looking for specifics on how either program operates. Right now, there would be nothing to share with you anyway.
