Footnote/Endnote Citation: Wedding invitation for Jane Doe and John Moe citing ceremony on 11 September 1999, Wedding Invitation Scrapbook, ca. 2002; privately held by Terri Brown, [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE,] Anytown, Ohio. Unless otherwise specified all invitations were originally received by the current owner. Bibliography: Wedding Invitation Scrapbook. ca. 2002. Privately held by Terri Brown, [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE,] Anythown, Ohio.
Here is another example using "family papers" as the Artifact ID. This time the Item of Interest is a marriage license. Footnote/Endnote Citation: Moe-Doe marriage license and return, 1994, Brown Family Papers, ca. 1963-current; privately held by J. & Terri Brown, [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE,] Anytown, Ohio. Various letters and documents saved by my husband and I; This is the original marriage license and return; a copy was filed with the Any County Probate Court in Anytown, Ohio When using this variation, the Item of Interest is again a description of the document or item, ie. Letter to Jane Doe from Cousin George or Sampler sewn by June Bug, 1810. I have other sources with the same problem, i.e. handwritten "documents" found among my grandmother's momentos collected over a lifetime. Or should I even be citing these as sources?
