Stuart,

IntelliShare will only work if the different versions of the file were
"spun off" one original file.

Jim, thank you. I have three files all with the same family name and they
started individually. I assume that your suggestion will work the same.

If the three families originally started out as one file, I would import
them into one designated and do an IntelliShare merge. During the merge
process Legacy will search for all records with matching IntelliShare
values and then automatically combine those that have exactly the same
value. These are the records where no changes have been made. At the end of
the automatic merge sweep, Legacy will display only the records where
changes have been made by one or more persons. Please see the article
"Sharing Research Tasks in Legacy: Using IntelliShare" at

Although IntelliShare is designed to help multiple research coordinate
their research tasks, some people use Intellishare to keep their family
files in sync on two or more computers that they own. (They think of their
other computers as other researchers.)

Subject: [LegacyUG] Combining multiple versions of Legacy files

I have be less than careful in planning my files. I have several
computers all with different versions of Legacy. Before I try to combine
them into
file with the current Legacy version. I plan to update all machines with
current version. My questions are: How should I combine the three files?
Should I do this on one machine and then move it to the other machines
after they have the most current version of Legacy?

Some guidance would be greatly accepted.
