Thats the problem. The Email adress is hacked. So a reply goes to the hacker, who now controls that adress. If someone offers to help, he/she gets false information where/how to sent money.

It appears to go back to poor old Hugh Busey - who is a member of this list - and whose account it is that has been hacked, or back to the list.
