In the marriage screen, check "This couple did not marry" for the situations where children were conceived. Leave out boyfriends whether live in or not altogether. Even legally they have no place in the family unless a marriage or child resulted from the relationship.

I'm so over my head on how to record all of this data! > I have a cousin who has had seven children (and one stillbirth) to five (six?) different men, marrying only two if I recall correctly! And the latest one was born after she became a grandmother herself. Life is fun! ;-) Someone else asked about a similar issue within the past 24 hours which you might find helpful... see the thread starting at http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg07988.html ("Following two paternal lines"). Essentially, start at the beginning. Enter her first husband, then the children she had with him. Then enter the second husband, and the children she had with him, and so on. If you use the menu, in the Family View with your cousin as the central woman it's Add > Husband to <name>. If you prefer keyboard shortcuts, it's <A> followed by <H> (<A>dd <H>usband). It doesn't matter if you don't enter the husbands/partners in the right order - you can change the order later on. In the Help File, look in the index for Add, Spouse, then select "How to Add an Additional Spouse". Hope this helps. :-) Kind Regards, Wendy Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
