Dennis, Have you checked to see if you have also selected the indivual to be "private"? I ask because before sending you my suggestion, I opened up an individual, clicked "edit" to open an event, then marked it private.
I just ran a descendant's report and he is on the report, but the event is NOT. Please click on the individual...then look at the Privacy "box" in the lower right...it should say "Not Private"...if it says "Private", then click on the settings box and select "Nor Private"...
