Just in case anyone else wants to find a master source list so they
can edit it I figured it out.

Select an individual, click on the source icon [looks like books] and
"assigned sources" for that person comes up. Click in a blank field [I
used research] and then "cite a master source." Up comes a list of
master sources which can be selected and edited individually. If a
finger slips and you accidentally add one to that blank field there is
a "remove" choice.

ALL my sources imported as master sources so there is still a lot of
work but not nearly the amount involved when no one could tell me how
to find an editable source list.
