GedStar does not need a gedcom with Legacy and The Master Genealogist, but can use gedcoms from any source. However when exporting to gedcom some software will export links to pictures, etc and some will not. Also the amount of information that is included in the Gedstar on your Android is variable by the owner. Therefore the Gedstar file size can vary.
