So sorry Elizabeth! That's just so hard to deal with especially in this busy
time of year.

I'm sure you'll get instructions on creating a gedcom, and all the usual
ways to share but there was a webinar recently on Passage Express and that
seems like such an awesome way to share it; I would encourage you to use
that if possible. It's a free part of Legacy and it creates a DVD with your
information on it and there is also a button to push that sends them to the
website to download the free version of Legacy. This way, you don't have to
worry about losing any of your "legacy specific" items/events, etc.
Sometimes people complain about gedcom creations not recognizing all of
their Legacy stuff and it gets lost in the shuffle. I haven't used it yet
but I plan to use the deluxe (paid) version of it to prepare discs for
extended family with just their families on it. It works pretty easily; I
did play around with the simple version some and it was quick and easy (but
I had watched the webinar first. The webinar is probably still archived on
their website)

Just a suggestion. Of course, you will want to do a complete back up of
your files and also make a disk with your full size multimedia items (not
just the backup that Legacy created); and if you're turning it over to
someone else, if you have the time and energy, you may want to organize a
bit so that it is understandable to "anyone". Then make several copies of
those disks just in case there is a problem; when I say "disk", I mean DVD
or flash drive or external hard drive, whatever method of external saving
you like best (or all of the above). And if you can afford it, you could
give your daughter the deluxe version of Legacy plus the two sets of
training disks for Christmas (took me 2 years to buy the set but it was so
worth it!)

Take care of yourself and get better soon! Kathy
