It started with getting rid of formatting codes, but found I could not get rid of those. I found that the ABBR tag has what I want in it w/o any formatting, so thought I'd drop TITL and rename ABBR to TITL in it's place. But, I can't get rid of TITL (at least not via Legacy) either.
Having taken it this far, I now simply just want TITL gone. I've decided that TITL gives away more information that I want it too (i.e. privately held by Aunt Betty Ross [ADDRESS WITHHELD] California blah, blah, blah). I'm still working it out, but I think by entering my sources smartly, I can make use of either the ABBR or TITL in the created gedcoms based on the audience I'm sending info to - public gets a preview approved for all audiences, while a family member gets the directors cut.
