Elizabeth, I am afraid that I find your post awfully confusing. Source writer has been available for version 7.4 and later and has not changed since its launch, therefore, there is no such thing as “old” and “new” Source Writer.
The format used is selected by the user and is found in Options>Customise>Sources. One cannot change a source from Basic to Source Writer from within Legacy. There is not, to my knowledge, any bug in the system. It should be noted that second and subsequent displays of a Source Writer source are not the same as the first, and the format for subsequent display is shown on the Source-Citation (Detail) screen. Perhaps you would like to have a fresh look at your post and supply examples for us to be able to understand your problem. In case you are not aware this list does not accept attachments, so you will need to write the examples. Windows 7. Since only one way to create sources is available to me on the new version, I have a mixture of sources in my file: most created with the old (freely available) 7.4 and older source-writer interface, and some newer sources created using the basic source interface, and some older source-writer-created sources that have been edited in the new system. When I create a report in 7.5, for an individual for example, it appears that only the sources created using the basic source interface appear correctly in my report. Sources created with the old source-writer and edited with the new basic system do not display full information in the report. Sources created with the old source-writer and NOT edited in 7.5 display just fine. I assume that I will have to re-create/repair all of the sources in my family file, unless someone has a bug fix or clever workaround? liz -- Elizabeth Young Rescue, CA Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
