I've made the SSN a Private Event globally. Go to the Master Events
Definition List (View > Master Lists...), locate the Social Security
event you used, click on Edit and click "Private Event" up towards the
top - just underneath the event name.

Or you can just click on the Private option for each individual event
- lower right corner of the Add Event or Edit Event window.

These will be suppresed unless you override the privacy on the "What"
tab ("Include Master Events marked Private" or "Include events marked
Private")

Of course, don't forget the SSn of deceased people are widely available anyway.

I think because of the identity theft issues, I would not put in SSNs
of living people in the database at all!

Sincerely,
Sherry
