I think most responders have missed what you're really asking. Yes, most of these family stories are just that, and you seem to be aware of being cautious. I'd enter the person without any title. Then I'd add an event suitably constructed to present the information you've been given, but without ascribing absolute certainty to it. Then, I'd add the ToDo so that I could remember that I had some serious research to carry out to verify or disprove the story. At which time, I'd add the proof or otherwise to the event and make any necessary adjustments to the individual's information. The event would be retained! It's a 'fact' that someone else might stumble across and take as being gospel. Your disproof of the story would be just as valuable as would be proof. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
