Paula,

That is a perfectly valid way to use the Notes, and is fine provided that
one would never wish to publish them, which in your case seems to be the
situation. For me it does not work because I use the General Note and
Research Notes for items which I do wish to publish, and since one cannot
conveniently mark them individually as not for publication they are not
suitable. Yes, I do know of Privacy Brackets, but I would be bound to forget
to add them sometimes!

James, I always enter the people. I haven't really gotten into using the
To-Dos, and I started with Legacy a long time ago (before To-Dos?), so I
generally write up the "hypothesis" in the Research Notes, citing the source
there. Perhaps too simplistic, but I only get to work on this hobby in
infrequent spurts, so I find having the person IN THERE with why he/she is
there
and what's left to prove helps the next time I pick it up.

(an aside to my Knight in shining armor thread)

I am trying to determine the best way to utilize Legacy (if at all) in
the uncertain situations - such as a family history claiming
Knighthood in the ancestry.
