Which Timelines? You can normally globally set the estimated lifespan for
each of the timeline reports/displays by looking at the Report Options
applicable to the report which your using.

How does the program estimate the time lines? My G. Grandmothers time line
shows approx birth 1855 and death  1889. Which is one year after my
grandmother
was born.
