That's an important consideration, I think. My plan, thinking out loud here, not yet realized: * Keep multiple backups of my Legacy file. * Share my 41+ years of research with the few family members who have shown interest. * Post "grandparents and older generations" at FamilySearch and RootsWeb. That'll be people born 1913 and earlier -- my choice -- your mileage may vary. Ten binders -- current count -- of ancestors (me, my husband, son-in-law) with some (best) photos, memorabilia and illustrations. I favor 1-inch binders. ONE box file with original documents -- and photocopies not easily replaced. (No censuses, etc.) Only ONE. On paper with my will, a letter to my family, telling them they can recycle the multiple boxes in my hall closet that have large "OK to recycle" note on lid, dated, signed by me. Yeah, I really should recycle some paper before then. The tricky part, of course, will be getting this done in time to be able to savor the achievement for a few months before I can no longer work on it. And we never know, do we? Don't mean to be morbid about this -- I'm in good health. Really, kinda thinking out loud. These questions are not for the "everything on the computer" researchers, who may have a better way but I know I'll never do it: What else would you do? What would you do differently?
