Cathy,

Legacy can save pretty well all text formats, but instead of saving using the
picture button, use the file button on the right. This will attach the file to
the Event, Source etc. Do note, however, that they will not (for obvious
reasons) appear in reports etc. If you call the file from within Legacy it will
open in the appropriate program as set by yourself (Options>Customise>Launch).

Subject: [LegacyUG] Saving Documents and Pictures

Hello

I am learning how to use the source clipboard, which is a great tool.

I have been able to save pictures/photos to the clipboard including images of
death registers thus far. As I am adding photos related to individuals, I am
setting up a folder system as Geoff Rasmusen had suggested for the Country,
State, County, etc.

I was trying to pull in a .txt document to go along with a photo of a
tombstone, but from what I have read in the Help list, Legacy does not support
this type of document. I have tried saving the document a different way to the
County folder and Windows 7 would not let me do it.

As I am typing I am thinking perhaps that I should scan the document. Any
suggestions? Also, how would you treat a word document that you want an image
of rather than clipping and pasting in research notes, details, etc.

Cathy
