It makes no difference whether you are using SourceWriter or Basic
Sourcing, to add a file which is not in a picture format (picture
formats are .jpg, .tif. .bmp etc) you must use the File button.   The
first steps are the same as for adding a picture, you select the
Multimedia tab and click on the Picture button.  On the next screen you
select the File button, NOT the Picture button.  (Unless you are
attaching a Sound or Video file, which have their own buttons.)

Legacy defaults to All Files so whichever folder you point it to, all
the files in that folder will be listed and you just select the one you
want.

You will not be able to view the document within Legacy in the same way
that you view a photograph.  You need to click on the link and the
document will open in its native program.  Similarly, to include it with
a Report you will need to print it from its own native program and add
it to your printed Report.
