Michelle, The beauty of Legacy is that everyone can enter data based upon their own individual preferences and style. Personally, I never delete a source, even when the information contained in the source has proven to be wrong. Instead, I add the source to a properly titled Disproven event i.e., "Disproven Birth Date," "Disproven Death Date" and detail why and how the particular event was disproven in the Notes section. The Correct source is then applied to the proper event i.e., "Birth Date," "Death Date." This helps me to provide validly documented information, as well as dispelling some of the wild family traditions, or stories, that have been passed down from generation to generation. This is just my preferred method and 2 cents worth, everyone has perfectly valid and different ways of doing things.

I wish that you could delete multiple sources at one time using the windows shortcut (hold down the CTRL button and then select multiple entries) and also add a source to multiple fields (without using the assign to ALL) Many times I use a not so reliable source until I get something better. For example, I might have the IGI as a source for someone full name, birthdate/place of birth and death date/place of death as well as the relationship to his/her parents. Then I get I copy of a death certificate which has all of that info. I have to delete the IGI sources one at at time from the person and then assign the new source to each field one at a time. Another example is if I get info from a verbal interview from someone and then I find documents to back up the information. I tend to delete the interview and insert the more reliable documents.
