I want to use the to-do list more efficiently. Right now I am just using it as a casual place to jot down my list of things I need to do. When I have done the task, I delete it off of the list. I have been recording my negative searches under the research tab. The reason I do it this way is so that when I send a report to another researcher, they will know what I have already checked and it will save them some time.
Also, in the to-do list, there is a space to write your results. Let’s say they are positive. If I record my results here I will still have to put my results somewhere in my notes so that all of that info will be visible to others when I do reports. I would like to hear from others how the to-do list has helped them and how they use it to the fullest potential. I do feel like I am not utilizing this tool correctly. I do see the wisdom of having a list of tasks for one repository (or cemetery or whatever) so that when you are ready to make the trip you have a list of all the things you need to check. michele Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
