Just looking at a Descendant Narrative report I created some months ago and
noticed the following situation. A woman (Edith) had a relationship with an
unknown man and had one child to him. The child died at one year old, so it
is recorded that the child never married and had no children. The woman
then married Fred Nerk and had several children with him. However the
report sentence reads: Edith Edith never married and had no children. Fred
Nerk, son of ........
I decided to create another report to see if the problem still existed - I
have recently upgraded to the latest version 7.5.0.89 - but the problem
remains.
I've just tried something - I have created exactly the same situation with
another woman - "married" her to 'an unknown man' (this is the given name I
use, with no surname, when a partner is literally unknown rather than just
not knowing the name of a partner), ticked this couple didn't marry, ticked
this person never married and had no children on the child's information,
and I get exactly the same sentence in the report - i.e. Alberta Alberta
never married and had no children. Joe Blogs ......
In my testing I have also discovered that if I don't select this individual
never married and had no children the following sentence reads correctly. I
believe this is a bug, as I should be able to indicate this individual never
married etc. in any instance, whether the parents married twice or not.
Further testing has shown that if the parents only married once all is well,
it seems to be a problem only when one of the parents has married more than
once and 'this individual never married' is selected for a child of a first
marriage.

Something else I have re-noticed: I've reported this previously but the
problem still remains - when 'Use quoted names in narratives is selected
this is not honoured in sentences such as 'The following involved
[couplenames] and / or their children:' (my sentence for marriage events)
Actually, it appears to honour it for the husband's name, but not the
wife's. So I get 'The following involved Reginald George HAWTON and Janet
Kay "Jan" SULLIVAN and / or their children:" I'm sure it used to say
Reginald George "Reg" HAWTON and Janet Kay "Jan" SULLIVAN ...." so it seems
the problem may have been partially resolved.
Cheers
Jan
