I think it depends on what your purpose is. Do you just want to be able to see the nickname in your Legacy program when you have his information up? Or are you concerned about including his 'best' nickname in a report? If you want his name to always print 'Robert "Bobby" Eugene' then go ahead and put it in the first name field. If you just want to have it immediately available to you when Legacy is open, just add the AKA to one of the fields that shows up. You don't have to use the preset fields. I do that because I have so many AKAs that it is helpful for me to see them without having to click over to the AKA window. Some will say you 'shouldn't' put the "Bobby" in the first name field, but it's really just up to you to decide what suits your personal preferences the best. I always try to think about the next person who will be using my data and what will make sense to them.
