I won't use Source Writer as on export to GEDCOM it scrambles the source and
ends up on my website in garbled form.

However, I would be interested to see the templates for Scotland sources, but
couldn't find them. Would you be able to tell me the steps to take when setting
up a source in Source Writer so I can find them?

Regards,

Jennifer

You could set up Scotlands People as a repository for those sources, which
they are. That is how I have Ancestry, FHL, etc. I find that the Source
writer is easier to get the source in the format you want plus they have
templates for Scotland sources.

Personally, I wouldn't want to have one Master Source for Scotlands
People any more than I have one for Ancestry or one for FindMyPast or
one for FamilySearch.

I do use SourceWriter and I think my Source Citation for (for example) a
Death is very similar to those in the blog you mention:

Scotland Statutory Registers, Peebles, Peeblesshire, 768/00: page 16, no
47, 1916, George Adam Duncan Camperdown Fergusson; digital image,
"Deaths 1855-2006," ScotlandsPeople (www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk: 24
April 2005).

Your own example seems to include all the same information and does the
job very adequately, I would have thought.
