I asked a question several days ago, but I got little response, so I
would like to ask it again. Am I am overlooking something or shouldn't
there be ways of more closely controlling looking for duplicates on the
merge module? In other words, I don't want Legacy to tell me that Mary
Ellen Jones and Mary Jones might be the same person. I fully realize
the default should do that, but since I know the database I'm working
with extremely well in this case, I want to create a narrow set of
instructions to get right at the ones I know are duplicates and make
various passes through the database, not just one grand pass that takes
an inordinate amount of time. Are there any ways to tweak the settings
more fully? I guess the main question I'd like to ask is why there is
not an EXACT SPELLING selection for given names like there is for
surnames? Thanks / Jerry in Michigan/http://www.MerriamFamilyTree.org
