I've just been re-reading the good discussion of how to enter, research, document, source, and ultimately (!) link new-found parents, and I have a couple of quick questions for those of you in the "do not link them in" camp. You all record "I am researching this person as parent of so-and-so and here's how it's going." sort of information in the unlinked individual's either Notes field or one or more custom Events. 1. General Notes or Research Notes? 2. Do you enter anything on the prospective CHILD? 3. What and where? Surely you don't repeat everything, but I'm just as sure that you don't leave the out the possibility entirely. Looking forward to hearing from you. FYI, I'm currently researching a link on my husband's side back into Scotland and there are two strong hypotheses with roughly equivalent DNA results. I want to get a good research plan together and get to work, but I also know "life" gets in the way--it may be weeks before I can get back to this particular project and don't want to have to start from scratch.
