Hi Jill, You've already had some good suggestions from others, and here's another - take advantage of the online training information that is available, especially that which is free.
There are videos and webinars (seminars on the web)... The videos are listed at http://legacyfamilytree.com/Videos.asp and you can watch the first one online for free. When I played this first one at my local genealogy group, having been using Legacy myself for a few years at that stage, I learned new things and others who have been using it longer made similar comments - so it isn't just for beginners. The webinars are at http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/webinars.asp The ones most useful to you at this early stage, in my opinion, are the "Watch Geoff Live" ones. You can purchase these on CD, or you can watch the most recent one (Adding a Census Record) for free online - for about the next week, then it will become a matter of purchasing the disk. You can see a preview of the first half hour online for free for those that are now disk-purchase-only. Even seasoned Legacy users can learn from watching these and other resources, as well as talking about methods here on the list. We all see the world in our own way, and make our own interpretations, so seeing someone else's view can be quite an eye-opener. Hope this helps. :-) Kind Regards, Wendy Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
