I do just the same as Jenny describes for eactly the reasons she states. For
me, moving those older citations from the birth/death/marriage events to the
"Notes" event works well.

In my original post, I wasn't necessarily inquiring about practice,but
rather about what template people use use to cite an someone's family tree
posted on the internet, as with "Public Trees" on Ancetry.com. I
experimented with Paula's suggestion of using the Internet template, and
worked out a citation format (using overrides) that I liked.
