Thanks to Dennis for the SQL.  I've never used SQL before, so if I have
any problems I can contact you off list.  In the OP I did say that I
know how to change the actual files, so that is no  problem.

To Mike, if the extension is TIFF and you want to change it to TIF, the
same SQL should work, except change jpe to TIFF and jpg to TIF.

If you want to change them to jpg, then you need to change the file
internals as well.  There are some mass file changers out there. Google
"batch file conversion" or maybe someone on the list knows of a good one.
